Lunch With Keynotes:
In
Nicaragua: Alan Summers
In Ghana: Carey McIver
When Carey McIver,
Manager of Solid Waste at the RDN visited Ghana in 2005, she found a
country experiencing the same challenges that existed in BC in 1945.
Find out how fifty year’s hindsight can help a developing country
with its solid waste planning, and reflect on what it says about the
directions we’re forging.
Alan Summers is
the Senior Manager of the Solid Waste Division at the CRD and the
President of the Solid Waste Association of North America. He
helped lead the implementation of a self-sustaining, integrated
solid waste management system in Tipitapa, Nicaragua.
Alan's presentation was
given by Terry Snow, Manager of Civic Services at the City of
Victoria. Terry accompanied Alan to Tipitapa. |
